About the Author
Dr. Claud Anderson is a successful author who has popularized Black history and is widely recognized as one of America's most influential intellectuals. He has drawn the nation's attention to the issue of race and the advantages of redeveloping and industrializing black communities. Dr. Anderson has a broad and varied base of experiences spanning education, business, national and state politics and successful economic and social reform. Dr. Anderson is currently president of the Harvest Institute, a black think tank. Appointed by President Jimmy Carter to head the Coastal Plains Regional Commission, Dr. Anderson funded and directed economic development activities for governors in the Southeastern states. He was executive director for two economic development corporations in Miami, Florida. As special assistant to the 1988 Democratic Convention, he awarded 37% of the contracts to blacks, a record that has not been reached or broken. During integration, he served as State Coordinator of Education of the state of Florida under Governor Reubin Askew. Dr. Anderson has developed the concept of PowerNomics, a set of social-political and economic strategies based upon his analysis of the race problem as described in Black Labor. PowerNomics is designed as a solution to the nation's race problems and to help make Black America more self-sufficient and competitive as a group. He is also involved in several projects to redevelop inner cities according to PowerNomics strategies.

I truly loved reading this book. I rate it 5 stars and more. This book should be at every Black University and Urban schools in this country. It educated me into the major reasons as to why Black Americans find themselves in their current conditions. As I witness the news and social media, and I watch how our current US Representatives, State Representatives and Local Representatives obstruct our progress for economic growth, social freedoms, educational opportunities, police massive killings of young Black men and Black women in the streets of our nation and poor housing. This book fills in the blanks. Every Black American should have this book in their homes. Maybe after reading this book, we as Black Americans can begin to start working together for our common clause. Nobody wants to speak the truth, Dr. Claud Anderson has done that. I only hope we Black folks are listening.
This book is an eye-opener in it's explanation and extensive research of how White Americans have built their wealth off the backs of OUR Black ancestors. It explains how they continue to DENY our race adequate compensation for the UNPAID labor that we rightly have earned! I absolutely love Dr. Claude Anderson's undeniable passion in seeking what is rightfully ours, and that is REPARATIONS! Thank you Dr. Anderson for your sacrificial time, tenacity, and compassion in the attempt to, finally, correct a monetary miscarriage of justice.
This small book explains what I have seen throughout my 40 years of work life. It pulls it all together into one concise package. It also gives a plan for improving the working life and economy of the Black communities around the country. This is a good read for a quick study.
I'm starting to have a different perspective of everything around me.
I'm re-reading Dr. Anderson's book for a second time and most likely will read it several more times before it's all said and done. He's the lone voice in the wilderness of North America that's telling black Americans that integration is not that answer. Group economics and politics is the key to prosperity in a pluralistic society. Every other group understands this and takes advantage of our ignorance. They all have businesses in our community but you will never see black businesses in there communities(they will never allow it). Read this book and start the journey to a new outlook and direction for black liberation.
This should be required reading for every black family and African American History course. It's written in very simple language. Broken down into easy to digest sections which allows you to easily put the book down and jump around as you feel. There is no fluff. It's straight to the point siting FACTS, not opinion quoting sources and documents. It's a magnificent work that I will recommend to everyone.It gives a chronological account of the African Americans journey from Africa through Slavery to America like nothing else I've ever seen. 7 Stars.

Very educational, a great read for everyone on this planet. This book should be in schools all around the world as required reading.
